Spain packaging producer numbers (ERN) for marketplace sellers
Sellers shipping packaged goods into Spain hear ERN, ENV number, or producer register number for the same pain: Amazon wants proof you are inscribed for packaging. Without a matching number, offers stall and Account Health warnings show up.
Easy to confuse: joining Ecoembes (or another SCRAP) is not the same click as inscription in the national Registro de Productores de Producto — sección envases (MITECO). Related duties. Packfiled helps you track which step you are on. It does not register you, does not file, and is not an authorized representative. Never “we register you.”
Packfiled is planning software for packaging EPR deadlines and registration numbers. It does not file, does not submit registrations to a register or marketplace, and is not an authorized representative. Not legal advice. Confirm dates and numbers on the official portal.
What the number is
Spain’s packaging producer register is the envases section of the Registro de Productores de Producto. After inscription you receive a packaging producer registration number (seller shorthand: ERN / ENV-style ID). Marketplaces compare what you enter to official records.
Ecoembes is a well-known household-packaging SCRAP (collective producer-responsibility system). Adhering to a SCRAP finances recovery. The national register inscription is the producer-register number marketplaces verify. Distance sellers typically need both, plus — with no Spanish establishment — an authorized representative in Spain. Confirm current portal names and fields on MITECO and your SCRAP; scheme cadences change, and Packfiled’s calendar marks uncertain dates rather than inventing them.
Why Amazon asks
Spanish packaging rules push platforms to verify seller inscription (and representative status where required). That is why Seller Central asks for a Spain packaging EPR number. Pay on Behalf style fallbacks, when offered, are a costly substitute for holding your own inscription.
DIY vs €500–800 help
Foreign sellers usually need a Spanish identity path and an authorized representative to finish RPP inscription and SCRAP adhesion. “Spain packaging handled” packages commonly land around €500–800+ before ongoing eco-contributions. Packfiled is not that package. It is $99/month planning software.
